Welcome to the SFU Surrey - TD Community Engagement Centre (CEC)

Simon Fraser University and the TD Bank Group have recently launched the SFU Surrey – TD Community Engagement Centre (CEC), which is located at the Surrey City Centre Library beside Simon Fraser University’s Surrey campus. Officially announced in May 2013, the CEC will foster connections between SFU and the ethnically diverse and growing South Fraser community with an initial focus on supporting new immigrants and their families. It will connect children, adults and community members with SFU students, faculty and staff through a range of courses, workshops and experiences.

Goals include,

  1. Supporting the transition of members of BC’s new immigrant communities through access to programs on-site and through referrals to other SFU and community-delivered programs and pathways.
  2. Inspiring and positively influencing the aspirations of the children of new immigrant families to pursue post-secondary education.
  3. Providing opportunities for SFU students, staff and faculty to be involved in experiential learning and knowledge mobilization resulting in postiive social, community and economic impact.
