Co-op

Co-operative Education in Computing Science allows students to gain valuable, career-related, paid work experience. Think you can wait to gain experience until after you graduate? Many employers prefer recent grads with experience. Here are the many ways in which students can benefit from the program:

How much will I earn?

Have the opportunity to graduate with up to 20 months (5 terms) of work experience with a wide variety of employers and earn $44,000 - $71,000 through our co-operative education program.

Where are the jobs located?

SFU is located in the greater Vancouver regional district, a major technology center, which is home to local and international companies in finance, software development, telecommunications, gaming, bioinformatics and many more. Students have completed work terms in: Vancouver, across Canada, Japan, France, Austria, Switzerland, UK, China, Taiwan, Korea, USA, Chile, Denmark.

How Do I Join Computing Science Co-op?

Complete Bridging Online 1 (BOL1) and 45 unit hours prior to the start of your first work term. CMPT 276 should be completed, or in progress.  If you do not meet these requirements, please contact Computing Science Co-op for advice.
