The U-Pass BC Program is a comprehensive transportation package providing students in Metro Vancouver with universal and affordable access to public transit in partnership with SFU, the Simon Fraser Student Society and Graduate Student Society, TransLink, and the Province of British Columbia. The mandatory program was approved via SFSS student referendum in March 2011 and GSS referendum in June 2011.All undergraduate and graduate, part-time and full-time SFU students who are eligible for the U-Pass BC Program and are enrolled in at least one on-campus course or who reside in Metro Vancouver, are included in the U-Pass BC Program.
The program provides unlimited, all zone access to public transit in Metro Vancouver (the GVRD) at approximately one-third to one-fifth the cost of a regular monthly transit pass. Once you have your U-Pass, you will not have to pay any additional fares and you will have unlimited access to TransLink Bus (including Community Shuttles and West Vancouver Blue Buses), SkyTrain and SeaBus services (all zones) and a discount on West Coast Express Train fares.
Please see the U-Pass BC website (at www.sfu.ca/upass) for full details of the U-Pass BC Program at SFU, including when and where U-Pass BC cards are available, who is eligible, how to contact the staff, and other frequently asked questions.
