Guide for New Surrey Students
On behalf of Registrar and Information Services, we’d like to welcome you to the new and vibrant SFU Surrey campus. We have highlighted some very important items for you below that will help you orient yourself to the campus. A Welcome Information Desk will be set up on the Mezzanine Level during the first week of classes in the Fall (September) and Spring (January) terms, to help those of you that are new to the campus get oriented. In the Summer (May) term, please stop by our front counter and someone will be able to assist you.
Thank you and we hope your term is successful!

Pay the Admission Deposit
Paying your deposit lets us know that you've accepted our offer. The preferred payment method for the admission deposit is by credit card on the Student Information System
under "My admission to SFU" and "view and pay my fees." This is a one time fee of $250.00.
Please note: The $250 non-refundable admission deposit payment might not go into the term you intend to register in. This is because payments are credited according to the default term set up on the student information system, which only changes midway through the terms. However, your account will NOT be adversely affected by this. Once you register for classes, the $250 credit will automatically move to the term in which you are registered.
Pay Tuition Fees
The preferred payment method is by internet/telephone banking. To pay using the internet set SFU up as a bill payment through your personal bank. For more information on how to pay tuition fees, please see: http://students.sfu.ca/fees/howtopay.html.
Pay in-person at SFU Surrey, come to the Registrar and Information Services office on the Mezzanine level. The preferred method of in-person payment at SFU Surrey is cheque or debit/bank card (interac).
- Getting someone else to pay on your behalf? Ensure that they have a signed authorization letter from you.
Student Lockers
Student lockers at SFU Surrey are the responsibility of the Recreation and Athletics office (Galleria Level 3 - Room 3005). Lockers are rented for the term and certain costs and deposits will be associated with it. Locker rentals are currently $20.00 (cash only) per term and will be distributed at the beginning of the term.
Locks are distributed and managed by the Recreation and Athletics office at SFU Surrey. You will not need to purchase a lock. Any lockers found with personal locks will have them removed at the student's expense.
If you have a locker at SFU Burnaby, you will have to rent a separate locker at SFU Surrey. Fees for one locker do not transfer between campuses. Use of the lockers is at your own risk; SFU can not assume responsibility for the loss of or damage to personal possessions, please leave your valuables at home.
For more information please see: http://students.sfu.ca/recreation/surrey-recreation.html. If you have any questions about locker rentals, please contact the Recreation and Athletics office at SFU Surrey - 778.782.5434.
