Why Explorations: There are many things that are unique about the Explorations program and all of them are to the benefit of the students involved. The diversity and interdisciplinary nature of the program itself helps students to develop skills that will help them in their later academic careers. The size of the program is also an amazing advantage. The program itself is smaller and designed like a cohort meaning that the students to develop a more personal relationship with both their fellow peers and the professors.

Favourite memory: The final project we had to do for Explorations 160. We had to read the play Oedipus Rex by Sophocles.  Our professor, Sasha Colby, divided the play into six parts and the class into six groups.  Each group got a section and was told to modernize it or creatively present their section anyway they wanted.  During the final exam period everyone got together and presented their section by either acting it out or playing a filmed version in the order the sections appeared in the play.  The result - an extremely diverse, postmodern presentation of a classical play.  It was educational, it made the students think both analytically and creatively and at the same time was fun. What more can be asked of a final assignment?

What's next: I'm thinking about law school and/or looking into the RCMP.
