James Proctor
Business Administration (Accounting)
One of my fondest memories at SFU Surrey would have to be when I spent a Friday night at Central City Pub with a few of my classmates and my professor. It was through this experience that I learned how unique the SFU Surrey campus truly is! It was the first time I have had an instructor treat me as though I was a person, rather than just a number. During this time my instructor opened up and shared with us some of her own experiences in the business world. Although many of her stories cannot be found in a textbook, they are all lessons that will stay with me forever. For instance, she enlighten us that school should not just be about achieving the highest GPA possible, but rather about finding who we are as people. She said “When you discover what you’re passionate about, the rest will take care of itself.” Now in my third year, I can honestly say she was absolutely right and I encourage every SFU student to take her words to heart.
