Mathew Pagalilauan

Science Year One

Where did you grow up? Surrey (Fleetwood)

What high school did you graduate from? North Surrey Secondary

Why SFU? I chose to go to Surrey because it was a short distance to travel. Also, there was a promise of a closer interaction between the teaching professor and the reasonably sized classes.

What's unique about the program: The program consists of a group of individuals all taking the same classes together.  This allowed us to make connections with people who share the same aspirations and interests making it easier to integrate into the school.

What's unique about SFU Surrey:  Even though the campus is growing, it's reasonably small making you less of a "somebody in a crowd".  You get to know students at the school and in turn eventually everyone seems to know everyone else.

What's next: I plan to either work in a project management position or start a company. Ultimately, I would like to start a company that will benefit both the environment and the community.
