Sharareh Zamrou

BA Candidate, Double Major in World Literature and Criminology

World Literature allows the student to make discoveries about the world and more importantly, about themselves.

Every semester I embark on new adventures through characters in fascinating texts: I have single handedly taken down one of the biggest and most powerful pharmaceutical companies in the world. I have cracked almost impossible government codes. One morning I woke up and I was transformed into an insect. I was the only person who could see when the entire world went blind. I have traveled to the past and the future. And I patiently waited over 50 years to finally be with the one I love. I did all this and more without having to leave my house.

World Literature is remarkably diverse; when you enroll in a class you also get a lesson in history, psychology, law, sociology, literature, political science and international relations. I'm proud to be part of a program that was designed with me, the student, in mind. The professors are one of a kind, passionate and dedicated to their students.

The time you spend in university is precious and it is what you make of it. Take this opportunity to learn, to grow, to discover and to make lasting memories. World Literature has given me the opportunity to do all these.
