Welcome
"Our distinctive programs, award-winning faculty, responsive staff and services, and stunning new facility are creating a revolution in education."
Joanne Curry, Executive Director, SFU Surrey
Established in 2002, Simon Fraser University's Surrey Campus is one of three Simon Fraser University (SFU) campuses. SFU Surrey offers hundreds of courses in Applied Sciences, Arts and Social Sciences, Business Administration, Communication, Art, and Technology, Education, Health Sciences, Mathematics, and Science, as well as credit and non-credit courses and programs in Continuing Education.
SFU Surrey is uniquely situated in the middle of BC's next great metropolitan core. Anchored by a new Civic Centre, Surrey's new City Centre plan includes a flagship library, community plaza, city hall, performing arts centre and new commercial and residential developments within walking distance of SkyTrain and bus access, recreation facilities and a large-scale urban park.
SFU's Surrey campus, a 350,000-square-foot architectural masterpiece, includes multi-purpose teaching spaces and lecture theatres, and specialized science and research labs. The building, designed by acclaimed architect Bing Thom, has won numerous national and international awards. Located in one of Canada's largest and fastest growing cities, SFU Surrey is adjacent to the Surrey Central SkyTrain station and transit bus loop, putting SFU Surrey students just minutes away from the resources available at SFU's Burnaby and Vancouver campuses, and connecting them to Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley communities.
SFU Surrey offers an urban and friendly campus environment where classes are small and academic experiences are rewarding; all set against the backdrop of a stunning architectural facility that embodies some of the world’s most innovative design and technological features. Our co-operative education and student exchange opportunities are second-to-none and our in-class experiences are rich with the cultural diversity of students from around the world.
Professors encourage over 7,500 students in their pursuit of academic excellence through supportive first-year programs and unique programming in Computing Science (Software Systems), Interactive Arts and Technology, Mechatronic Systems Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Marketing, Management and Systems Science, Mathematics Operations Research, Criminology (Police Studies), World Literature, Education, and Science. The breadth of first-year programs offered at SFU Surrey allows students to begin most SFU degrees at the Surrey campus.
